Software-Recycling

Recycling Have you developed software programmes, for instance for the education sector, which are running today only on old operating systems? Would you like to support that interesting software may be distributed and used on new public platforms? To recycle programmes who yet have no market, or for different reasons never have been (re-)cycled into wide common use and further development, although they probably might worldwide show up to be very beneficial? Could you imagine to donate such software to common property?
Open Source Would you like to offer your collaboration, in your spare time, for the recycling of software for public benefit, either by programming, translating, documentation or other functions?

Have you got financial resources to support such projects as a whole or for some special parts or components of such recycling projects?
Idee We plan to realise an internet platform, where owners of rights, volunteers and sponsors can coordinate to make software worldwide publicly accessible as Free Software for the Education Sector: We focus especially on the project "One Laptop per Child" (OLPC). The idea for this project is a result of the "Future-Workshop on Sustainable Information Processing" of April 2008, supported by the Swiss Informatics Society (SI) and the University of Zürich. The project is still in an early development phase and we are looking for collaborators to help us in our effort to realize the project.
If you are interested in the project or even might contribute, please contact us at: info@software-recycling.org.
OLPC Switzerland This project is supported by the association OLPC Switzerland.
